Back in 2020, I was consulting with small business owners across Busan and kept seeing the same pattern. Amazing entrepreneurs with incredible products were struggling because they couldn't make sense of their finances.
One café owner I worked with was making beautiful artisan coffee but had no idea which drinks were actually profitable. She was working 12-hour days and barely breaking even. After we restructured her budgeting approach, she discovered her specialty drinks had 40% higher margins than regular coffee.
That's when I realized we needed a different approach to financial education — one that speaks the language of real business owners, not accountants.
